PrincessMaker

This work explores the position of unmarried women in South Korean society, the designer’s homeland. Centered on a former female public figure, the project begins with the perception of her as a “princess” by the previous generation, with a princess-raising game featuring that figure as the main character being played.
During her tenure, this politician introduced the ‘Korea birth map’ and, despite being a S. Korean woman herself, embodied patriarchal ideology. This work raises questions about the structural and social pressures acting on women in S. Korean society, as well as the normative models that demand a successful life and exemplary personal conduct.
